Among the findings presented at ESHRE 2026, researchers examined the influence of recipient age in donor-egg treatment. The analysis included 1,774 women and compared pregnancy, live-birth and miscarriage outcomes across age groups.
The reported results suggest that pregnancy and live-birth rates can decline among older recipients even when donor eggs are used. Miscarriage risk also increased in the oldest age groups.
Age remains a clinical factor
The findings reinforce the importance of setting expectations individually. Donor eggs can overcome part of the age-related effect on egg quality, but they do not remove every factor associated with reproductive ageing.
