Hysteroscopy is incorporating increasingly less invasive techniques to diagnose and treat lesions inside the uterine cavity. In June 2026, Hospital Quirónsalud Huelva announced the launch of an Advanced Hysteroscopy Unit using intrauterine tissue removal for fibroids, endometrial polyps, selected uterine malformations and retained products of conception.
The technique allows access to the uterine cavity without prior cervical dilation and can remove selected lesions precisely without electrical energy. The aim is to reduce bleeding, discomfort and endometrial injury while making outpatient procedures possible for appropriately selected patients.
What can it offer?
Less trauma to the endometrial lining may be particularly relevant for women wishing to preserve fertility. The indication always depends on the type, size and location of the lesion and on an individual gynaecological assessment.
A move towards more conservative procedures
Hysteroscopy is evolving towards treating more intrauterine conditions with precise techniques and faster recovery. These innovations do not replace medical assessment: the most appropriate procedure must be chosen for each patient.
